I did feel like for awhile, they were selfishly using him, but it did make sense. Before I Wake kept me off balance enough that I was consistently wrong or just flat out missed certain things throughout the film. I”m glad you came to like it by the end. Michael Fimognari did a fantastic job with the cinematography. I'm giddy!

i've loved the soul screamers series since the beginning, and i don't want to dislike it towards the end because of a relationship that, in my opinion, doesn't work. Beyond that, it’s difficult to put my feelings about the film into words.
The relationship between Todd and Kayley has grown a lot and it is just marvelous to see it develop. Though no longer involved with Ladies of Horror Fiction due to other responsibilities and a too-full plate, she was one of the original 4 co-founders.

I thought the twist was actually really nice, and I liked the ending, because I tend to prefer horror movies where the ending is at least somewhat optimistic (or at least neutral). 2.5 stars - Spoilers Before I wake is set one month after the events of If I Die. From a personal/emotional perspective, I liked the movie.
Cody is a smart kid and would do what he could to make himself appealing to his family.
It felt cheesy, and the cgi was a little off.
A perfect choice for it, really. Plus plot holes and the too ambiguous ending.
It was also a lot more family friendly (in my opinion) than I was hoping for. From a more technical perspective, the movie was no masterpiece.
As a parent who has lost a child, I sympathized greatly with the parents in the film.
Each word contained in this amazing continuation of the Soul Screamer Series will leave readers feeling all the emotions known to man.

Mike Flanagan’s Before I Wake was a nice little fantasy/horror film that will send shivers down your spine, but with a little more work on the script and better CGI it could have been a lot better.
Having never lost a child, I could not relate in that manner but I think both actors did well.
